Meet the Directors

Established in 2004, the 2 founders of Oasis Search explain a little about their background.

Jeremy Thornton

Wow, the opportunity to write about me!  But what do I write that will capture your interest and is not a stereotypical biography? After all Oasis Search is not a stereotypical recruitment company.  Having left my rebellious teenager years far behind I’ve worked in recruitment since graduation and feel very proud about what we’ve managed to achieve.

Secret to my success has simply been listening to advice, putting my faith in others and working with a strong team of like minded individuals.   I love and embrace networking, knowledge sharing and collaborations. It is not just what you know, but who you know, especially in recruitment.  Being a strong recruiter/networker has naturally led me into being an event manager, and community builder, even though I’m not a detailed focused person I’ve ended up running the Direct Resourcing Think Tank.  Looking forward I’m now busy developing Talent Track (a talent and resourcing consultancy) -  which we set up in September 2010 – simply because so many of our clients have asked us to!

Dedication, grit and determination summarise my approach to Oasis Search.  No aggression, sales spin or pressure is required. We purely set up this business and still continue to offer an open and honest service to our candidates and clients, as this is what they want.  Simply put there were no other recruitment companies I wanted to work for so we had to set up Oasis Search.  From pretty humble beginnings I’ve really focused on developing our brand to reflect my personal values - integrity, a straight-talking approach and a definite helping of humour.  Why try and pretend to be something you’re not?

Away from the business it’s all kids and family.  When through careful diary management; I manage  to escape it is either straight onto a trials bike or off to a track day.  Someone once told me you can’t live your dreams through your kids…. my thoughts are Harry and Isabella will love growing up racing bikes and cars!!
