Companies see talent recruitment professionals as increasingly important
27/10/2008

Talent recruitment professionals are becoming increasingly important to organisations, according to findings from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

More companies are choosing to invest in talent recruitment and talent management professionals, it has been revealed.

According to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and the Croner Reward pay survey, HR employees working in recruitment have received the biggest rise in salaries, which indicates that organisations are placing a greater emphasis on attracting the best talent.

Speaking to online recruitment website onrec.com, Charles Cotton, reward adviser at CIPD, said that talent attraction is still high on many organisations' agendas.

"While many employers are looking to cut back on their head count they are still looking to recruit individuals at all levels with the right skills, knowledge and attitudes to lead them through these difficult times, and emerge ready to capitalise on a future recovery."

Talent recruitment consultants saw their salaries jump 11 per cent above the average senior management HR pay of £45,000 per year, an increase from 4 per cent least year.

Despite the findings, the number of specialist recruitment agencies going bust has increased in 2008, according to new figures form business consultancy firm Deloitte.
